Profile Information

What motivated you (or your organization) to become involved in peace and conflict resolution?
I hold a Masters in Humanitarian and Refugee Studies. I was motivated by the plight of Liberian, Sierraleonian and Sudanes refugees that I had to work with in Nigeria in the 90s and 2005/6 in the course of providing humanitarian assistance to them. Counselling sessions organized to elicit their needs revealed what I can only describe as horror stories of destroyed individual and comunity lives and crimes against humanity in the context of lawlessness created by wars. I decided to get involved in conflict prevention initiatives through peacebuilding and governance development projects. I work towards a preventive approach to handling social dislocations which could result in violent conflict.
Please feel free to provide a short bio about yourself or the work of your organization (no more than 3 paragraphs)

thanks for the comment - It looks like you've done some very special work yourself. I'm not sure what the chances are, but did you know Makena Kirima. She's from Kenya, but she's a good friend of mine who was also working with refugees in Sudan around the time you were. Anyway, best of luck with your continued work - I'm sure it means so much to the people you benefit.
