Profile Information

What motivated you (or your organization) to become involved in peace and conflict resolution?
I came across the field rather by coincidence having studied and working in international relations and European integration. For more than 5 years I worked in building intercommunity dialogue in post-conflict societies and divided communities.
Please feel free to provide a short bio about yourself or the work of your organization (no more than 3 paragraphs)
As a trainer and mediator I focus on bringing people together. The main focus of my work has been on building intercommunity dialogue in post-conflict societies and divided communities. Specifically I have worked with local intercommunity dialogue mechanisms and supporting them to become functionable and contributing to local problem-solving.
Accompanying individuals and groups in finding their own voice, negotiating their own (or their groups) needs and interests to find mututally acceptable solutions, and using mediation as a tool for peaceful conflict transformation are core to my beliefs and carry into all my projects. Having grown up in an international / European setting, identity and community issues have accompanied me all my life. As an open and communicative individual I enjoy working in teams as well as independently, integrate easily, and adapt to the needs of the situation.
Having built up a project-based NGO, I have braod experience in project and organisational management, public funding, grant writing, evaluation, budgets and finances. My research interests cover community mediation, problem-solving negotiations, gender issues, identity and community issues, and European integration.
