What motivated you (or your organization) to become involved in peace and conflict resolution?
As an anthropology student, I found conflict across ethnic divides most interesting. I am still trying to understand why and how people don't understand each other.
Please feel free to provide a short bio about yourself or the work of your organization (no more than 3 paragraphs)
After an MA in anthropology at SOAS in London, UK, during which I wrote my thesis on how governments conceptualise refugees, I went to work in Pakistan on a newspaper. From there went on to found a youth journalism project in the country through the Institute for War and Peace Reporting (IWPR). I am early in my career as yet, but I hope to get deeper into conflict resolution techniques on a micro and macro scale through my current work supporting Iraqi media in conflict resolution.
