WISHING EVERYONE
A VERY HAPPY, SUCCESSFUL
NEW YEAR 2009
WITH THE CHOICEST OF BLESSINGS
TOGETHER WITH
PEACE AND SERENITY FOR
LIFE AND
TO LEAD A LIFE WITHOUT FEAR
TO DO GOOD TO OTHERS.
The Paradoxical Commandments
by Dr. Kent M. Keith
People are illogical, unreasonable, and self-centered.
Love them anyway.
If you do good, people will accuse you of selfish ulterior motives.
Do good anyway.
If you are successful, you win false friends and true enemies.
Succeed anyway.
The good you do today will be forgotten tomorrow.
Do good anyway.
Honesty and frankness make you vulnerable.
Be honest and frank anyway.
The biggest men and women with the biggest ideas can be shot down by the smallest men and women with the smallest minds.
Think big anyway.
People favor underdogs but follow only top dogs.
Fight for a few underdogs anyway.
What you spend years building may be destroyed overnight.
Build anyway.
People really need help but may attack you if you do help them.
Help people anyway.
Give the world the best you have and you'll get kicked in the teeth.
Give the world the best you have anyway.

“In the final analysis, it is between you and God. It was never between you and them anyway."-Mother Teresa
The age of warrior kings and of warrior presidents has passed. The nuclear age calls for a different kind of leadership....a leadership of intellect, judgment, tolerance and rationality, a leadership committed to human values, to world peace, and to the improvement of the human condition. The attributes upon which we must draw are the human attributes of compassion and common sense, of intellect and creative imagination, and of empathy and understanding between cultures." - William Fulbright
“Any nation that year after year continues to raise the Defense budget while cutting social programs to the neediest is a nation approaching spiritual death.” - Rev. MLK

Thank you for your answer to my message. It is good to hear that there are people out there working for the highest ordered cause of altruist peace. Please don't hesitate to ask if you have any questions with which I may be able to help.

Hello.

I hope to open a line of communication with you. It seems we share some common interests so I wanted to make my introduction. I'm Chris from New Orleans. I'm studying Comparative legal systems at Tulane Law School and am very interested in Human Rights and Mediation and Negotiation. Given our common interests this might be a good way to start communication so we can refer to each other in the future. Please take a minute to view my page and leave a message if you like.

peace.

Wow, dimo - that sounds really interesting. Not the looking for a job etc, which sounds frustrating, but the working to set up an NGO that would work on Greek-Turkish cultural collaboration. What a wonderufl thing to do. I'm working on getting published and presenting at conferences! However, it snowed today and that made me really happy!

Well, I'm glad you're enjoying Athens and sorry it's so expensive. That seems to be the dilemma - if it's a nice place to be, it's really expensive!

What are you working on?

You, too! I am a professor now, recovering from a long illness, and writing about spirituality and conflict resolution. The job sounds like it was interesting - what is Athens like as a place to live? Good luck on the job hunt. I live in the middle of the big penninsula that sticks out the end of Maryland - largely evangelical christians and chicken farmers.
Happy New Year!
