What motivated you (or your organization) to become involved in peace and conflict resolution?
From 1970-1972, I taught English as a foreign language in Niger, as a Peace Corps volunteer. That's where I learned about teaching people to fish, rather than giving them fish. It's also where I learned about the power of personal relationships to dispel stereotypes, cross cultural boundaries, and promote connection, caring and compassion for others.
My faith tradition teaches me that each of us has a role to play in attempting to heal a broken world. I believe that my part has to do with supporting efforts of others do their part---specialty in Africa, a love that dates back almost 40 years

I feel fortunate to have worked over the past several years with some truly amazing and inspiring people in Burundi, Liberia and Nigeria and hope to continue doing so

Felicitations, mon ami!!
Congratulations, I'm sure it involved quite a bit of work and you should feel deservedly proud. Heading back to Nigeria and Liberia in a couple weeks. Hoping to be able to identify some projects on which we can partner with local NGOs.
All my best wishes for a wonderful new year, challenging and satisfying work!

It's too bad that I could not see your email, I was in Paris and was not accessing emails. It is true that it is better wrting each other by emails. You could see mine on the website or get it through Meenakshi. Actually I am finalising my thesis by 31st oct and go back to Burundi the 2nd of nov. CERC is actually working on the International Conference on the Great Lakes Region. Hope you can still keep me for the project. Let me know if you need more information.
