Please feel free to provide a short bio about yourself or the work of your organization (no more than 3 paragraphs)
Biography
Daniel Tenaai is the founding CEO of Olmaa Pastoralists Development Programme which is an advocacy as well as social development organization working among the Maasai people in East Africa. His commitment to serve the Maasai is derived from his own experiences where he enrolled at grade 1 at the age of 18 years and worked as a night guard to support his siblings during the night and walked over 20 miles to the nearest school. During his elementary schooling he volunteered as a Sunday school teacher at a local church which had a sitting capacity of 20 people.
Through his advocacy work, Daniel has had the opportunity to attend global human rights and advocacy meetings in Europe and the United States.
Dan is currently working to access education, medical services, water and restitution of land to the Maasai people. His project is currently supporting 1000 Orphans and Vulnerable Children, helped build a Church with a sitting capacity of 500 and is supporting training of local church leaders and pastors. His biggest challenge is how to stop Female Genital Mutilation and forced early marriages for Maasai girls who are forced to get married at an early age of 12 years.
