Profile Information

What motivated you (or your organization) to become involved in peace and conflict resolution?
Starting from my faith in fundamental human rights , in the dignity and worth of the human person all over the world and at any time, anywhere and however he belong to . Having in mind a deep impact from the pain , extreme violence that my people in Iraq suffered and still suffer from, leads me to one conclusion peace and reconciliation is what I should work for, I know that there is no short cut or simple prescription for
healing the wounds and divisions of a society in the aftermath of sustained violence. I know that Creating trust
and understanding between former enemies is a supremely difficult challenge. It is, however, an
essential one to address in the process of building a lasting peace. Examining our painful past,
acknowledging it and understanding it, and above all transcending it together, is the best way to
guarantee that it does not – and cannot – happen again.

Hello Dalia,
thank you so much for your kind words!

Sounds like your work is of greater importance than my studies and editorial work, though. At least I surely hope so.

You live in a warzone, are the people motivated for nonviolent training? What kind of projects is it that you coordinate?
It sounds intruiging to be able to affect young people in a country devastated by war. To give them a view of the future that is filled with possibilities.
If that is what you do?

Personally, in Norway, we see that politics has made itself irrelevant for normal people, so we try to figure out ways in which to stir up the political nerve in the population.

Best regards,

Mira
