- Please feel free to provide a short bio about yourself or the work of your organization (no more than 3 paragraphs)
- I am a student starting university in September, studying Politics at Nottingham. I am involved in setting up a foundation for the education of both primary and secondary pupils in the Rakai district of Uganda. Vast numbers of children have been orphaned by AIDS and therefore do not have the financial support to go to school. Additionally the majority of pupils leave school after primary education because they cannot afford the fees. I have just come back from a month in Uganda, where myself, and a team of four others visited the schools and pupils that we hoped to form a link with. We met with local community groups and got an insight into the problems of the area, and how we could help in a realistic and small scale. The Foundation, to sponsor the educational fees of pupils is yet to be finalized, and we are currently working on creating a DvD to raise awareness, and hopefully funds, as well as creating a website. Watch this space.
