Chelsea Keyser is an eighth generation Vermonter. After graduating from Colchester High School, she attended Brandeis University, where she studied politics and history, and played varsity soccer. Her interest in international development and peace studies began her freshmen year of college when she spent one month of her summer vacation serving as a volunteer in an orphanage in Latvia through the Vermont based organization Volunteers for Peace. She spent a semester of her junior year in Northern Ireland studying peace and conflict, and completing thesis research on the transition of paramilitary groups to legitimate political parties.

Her international development career began in 2005, when she served as a Peace Corps volunteer in Mozambique until 2008. Upon her return to the United States she began working for Tetra Tech ARD, an international consulting firm dedicated to creating practical and environmentally responsible solutions that ensure sustained development. She lived in Indonesia in 2011-2012, working on the USAID funded Indonesia Forest and Climate Support project. She has a strong interest in community development, conflict resolution and promoting participation in the political process. She is currently enrolled in the University of Bradford in the Peace, Conflict and Development Masters Program. She is especially interested in examining how civil society can be strengthened to promote peaceful democratic reform in post conflict countries.

In her free time Chelsea enjoys spending time outdoors, reading, writing, traveling, and running.
