Friends, I agree work on the ground and through local actors is most important. I have some connections/experience in Uganda, but primarily want to hear from you as insiders who can educate me as an outsider. Carole

What motivated you (or your organization) to become involved in peace and conflict resolution?
My personal commitment to peacebuilding emerged as I watched powerlessly to reports of the Rwandan genocide in 1994. Then, global citizens had few opportunities to make their views and voices heard. Now, I want to be part of amplifying these voices through multimedia and online communications.

Hi Carole, Back from 6 weeks in Congo, Rw, and Bur. I have two interviews taped. One is pretty informative about conflict resolution on the Haut Plateau in South Kivu, DRC. What is the best way to send it? Also do you have capabilities to put subtitles on it, as it is in French? George

Carole,
I will provide you with any commentaries from people that I meet and am able to record. Hopefully some will also be of use to you. I'll also try and put you in touch with the daughter of a good friend. She'll be finishing her M.A. and a few weeks in TV and Media at Ohio Univ. Then going to Johannesburg for an internship with a TV station. You two may have some overlap in your respective work, maybe, maybe not, but it may be a useful exchange. If you want to contact me directly by email it is georgebrose@yahoo.com . I'll forward her address from your email as I'm not sure about putting her address on this site where many can read our mail.
