I'm CEO of the New York Peace Institute (www.nypeace.org), formerly the Safe Horizon Mediation Program.

Previously, I was a Vice President at Safe Horizon (www.safehorizon.org), where I oversaw the agency's Mediation, Legal Services, Anti-Trafficking, Anti-Stalking, Families of Homicide Victims, and Batterer Intervention Programs.

I'm also an Adjunct Professor at the New York University Center for Global Affairs, where I teach courses on international mediation and NGO development.

I also served as International Director of Partners for Democratic Change (www.partnersglobal.org), where I worked to establish conflict and change management centers throughout Central and Eastern Europe, the Balkans, South Caucasus, former Soviet Union and Latin America.

I received my Master of Arts in International Relations and International Economics from the Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS).

Folks, we just wrapped up a 40-hour Basic Mediation Training, putting 26 people from all walks of life on the path of joining New York City's largest civilian peacebuilding force. This was a pretty eclectic group -- including a mother & daughter, a hypnotist, a couple of triathlete trainers, and three people from Switzerland. (Yep, we were teaching the Swiss about neutrality.
