Profile Information

What motivated you (or your organization) to become involved in peace and conflict resolution?
Starting the Ubuntu Peace Project was a natural outcome of my deepest beliefs. On my spiritual journey and in reading quantum physics and in understanding the laws of nature, I knew that whatever you focus your attention on will expand and get bigger. So it is obvious that by focusing on and fighting against crime and violence, all you will get is more crime and violence. The obvious thing then would be to focus on what we want, which is peace and kindness. I am also keen to reinstate the culture and spirit of ubuntu, which in essence is a sense of oneness, caring, cooperation and kindness - realizing that we are all one, connected to each other and connected to the environment.
Please feel free to provide a short bio about yourself or the work of your organization (no more than 3 paragraphs)
Born in Rhodesia (Zimbabwe), I moved to Souht Africa with my parents, completing my schooling at the Convent High School in Pieermaritzburg and going on to study English and Political Science at the Natal University. My career successes involved management, public relations, and event organizing.

I am writing a book entitled "Touching the Silence". Following a car accident and horrific injuries, I discovered a mind / body connection, and was able to heal my body. This took me on a search for Truth. On this journey I found the immense power and healing of true love and understanding, which leads to peace and joy.

This is progressive and timely in my country where almost in a row we see TV scenes of women murdered in cold blood by their 'husbands'. In some cases children witness and begin to take it as normal occurances. We need to break the cycle and create/…
