Dear Assabah,
I agree with your comments that it would be so nice if we could strengthen people from media to erase the misinformation campaign set out by the state propaganda machinery. People from the conflict zones like Kashmir, Manipur and the other North-Eastern states within a democratic India will be quick to understand your point. Are you mainly based at Kashmir and with which TV channel you are associated with?
I am looking to hearing from Manipur.

Warm regards,
Bobichand

Thanks for the extra information. I do think the challenge of funding to implement work is a significant issue. There are also great local groups and individuals working to advance dialogue and peace in Kashmir. Also if you haven't heard of the Institute for Inclusive Security, you may want to look up the organization. They do terrific work on gender and peacebuilding around the world, see http://www.womenwagingpeace.net

I am glad to hear that you have attended some workshops with Ambassador McDonald from IMTD, they do very useful and important work. I agree that much more needs to be done both on the ground and in the larger region to foster collaborative approaches to addressing some of the core issues in Kashmir.

The basis for what I call "the dark mirror" is well known by those who study propaganda, the key feature being the casting of one's own intentions into the reflection of one's enemies.  The Jews, not the Nazis, for example, are out to destroy the wo…
