Profile Information

What motivated you (or your organization) to become involved in peace and conflict resolution?
As a survivor of violence my personal experience and witness to violence mainly against women led me to work on Violence Against Women in South Africa for over 20 years. I became interested in how conflict opens up opportunities and gains for women in terms of shifting gender relations and moved into the peace, conflict and transformation area.

I am a trained community psychologist, life coach and post conflict gender specialist. I was born in South Africa, am of Indian origin and currently am based in Lusaka, Zambia. I work as an independent consultant and am mainly interested in effecting personal transformation as an essential component of change and transformation in society. I believe that the self, others and the context constantly overlap so a balance of focus is important to ensure that transformation happens at every level.
