Profile Information

What motivated you (or your organization) to become involved in peace and conflict resolution?
International development has been my passion for quite some years now. During my visit to former Yugoslavia (Bosnia-Herzegovina) in 2005 I developed a specific interest within development issues in conflict and peacebuilding processes. Africa, with its devastating history of civil wars, has increasingly drawn my attention. This fall I hope to pay a visit to Burundi for a two month field research.
Please list the countries and/or regions in which you (or your organization) have direct and significant expertise
My expertise currently lies with more general conceptions about processes of conflict, peace building and international development, for I have not yet visited or done extensive research on one specific country or region. However, as mentioned, my main interest lies with (post) conflict areas in Africa.
What is your current country of residence (or location of your organization)?
The Netherlands
What is your current job (and organization) and/or where and what field are you studying?
International Developmentstudies and Conflictstudies
What is one of your favorite websites in the field? (please provide one answer per box)
http://crisisgroup.org
Which are your primary sectoral areas of expertise (or the primary sectoral areas of your organization) ?
Civil Society, Development, Humanitarian Relief
Which are your primary skills areas(or the primary skill areas of your organization)?
Evaluation, Research, Qualitative Skills

Hello Anna;

Congratulations!!!I am so happy to hear that you are coming in Burundi. Centre Jeunes Kamenge is one among the organisations that played a significant role in reconciliation. I've already worked with them, Father Claudio marano in particular, he is really a great person.
Surely I will welcome you and probably help you to visit many other organisations.

Thank once again and look forward to seeing you
