Hi all, On the assumption that most members of this Group are educators, I'm suggesting we collaborate on creating a practical Learning activity that could be used to teach YOUTHS about Peace and guide them to take action in their local community.
While i know we all live in different contexts, it would be fun to create a standard activity that could be replicated with modifications in any part of the world. I look forward to reading replies.

A historical documentary charting ‘The Bomb’. It is about war, foreign policy, vested interests, nuclear weapons and the fight against them.

Unethical, illegal and immoral practices have transformed our lives in recent years. Intolerance, corruption, lawlessness, has grown exponentially, and basic ethics and morality have deteriorated dramatically – telling lies, bribing people, adopting corrupt practices, etc., have become a way of life. Our society and personal lives have now severely been influenced by these unethical practices. New and innovative methods for unethical practices are introduced every day and are severely affecting our value system. Underpinning these changes are primary deep-rooted in our lack of respect, compassion, for other and more critically intolerance and no respect for justice. Growing convergence of unethical political culture, no role model, and no reward and punishment mechanism for such attitude, behavior and practices is accelerating the process of unethical practices by all.

ChangeMaker’s STAR program responds to this unhealthy environment. We understand that widespread rampant and deep-rooted unethical practices have today become critical for our survival as a human being and participate in the contemporary world – and we will change it. We recognize that staying ethical by yourself alone is not enough – if we are to thrive, we need a critical mass of people, an enabling environment and commitment and support from our people.

The STAR program goes beyond looking at the factors that enable ethical development. Our vision of the future is that sincere, truthful, accountable and responsible people should be leaders in our life and practice ethical values, and contribute to a prosperous, sustainable and vibrant society. Our country has more to gain from the people with good ‘character’ than immoral people. ChangeMaker’s STAR program maps out these steps towards a unified vision of a good society that cares and respects others. Three core ideas underpin this STAR program strategy: unleashing the full potential of the goodness of people. This means trigger the latent aspiration of being good human being; develop standards of goodness that allow different people and community to interconnect and develop a share vision for goodness for the community and sharing of good practices as much as possible. We are committed to making sure that all people in our society are based on principles of goodness. We are also committed to integrate all walks of people, opening up to national ideologies, principles, and visions where possible.

We strongly believe the ethical and responsible citizens of the country can positively contribute to the social and economic development of our country. It can offer Bangladesh the opportunity to improve our image and our values to the rest of the world. The program focuses on spreading awareness of the potential of being honest and responsible and providing the people an enabling environment to take full advantage for personal and collective goals for healthy progression. In addition, our humane practices can influence our core institutions and support for high-morale to the country people.

We firmly believe in bringing everyone on the journey. The enabling environment will put the people to enhance incrementally their responsible and ethical practices and encourage others for a positive change. We can’t afford for any our fellow citizens to be left out. Being truthful, honest, responsible and ethical is easy if we can develop a culture that positively reinforce and incentivize the attitude, behaviors and actions. We are determined to break down the current rat-race of unethical and corrupt behavior.

ChangeMaker’s STAR program calls on all the citizens of our country to commit to ethical practices as our way of life in all our actions wherever we are and tackle the shared challenges of being truthful, honest, and responsible citizen – to become leaders. The future belongs to us all.

I am grateful to Teachers Without Borders Peace Education Group accepting me as the member. I have detailed by background and my specialization on my page which enable my entire respected member to know what I am and how can I share with all those who need my support and participation. Islamic Finance and Islamic Economic is the natural guidance towards the money matter that demands distribution of resources in social justice. It proves that the resources are unlimited and human efforts are limited. Participation and cooperation is the first principle in achieving maximum for the blessings of God that need education, knowledge, experience, reputation, humbleness, keenness and ability in individual performance. After 31 years of gaining some thing I put myself in teaching and training and now this profession is my passion and I look forward to receive any guidance from all respected member and offer my support in sharing knowledge that could give this world a healthy socio economic system instead of just an economic development which fail to overcome the present economic crises.
