I'd be looking at city permaculture - turning cities into a place of life and relationships - having little villages in the cities.

This is Nice the world is becoming a small village before then we have to creat a beautiful village for future

I always get a bit worried when we talk about villages, we are city dwellers, and we are many, some 50% of this wonderful world!!
what we should envisage is the the appropriate technology usage in a need based design framework with a transdisciplinary approach, that enables real world sustainability solutions, or as I call it the 'cognitive city', a learning ambience, a place with also real emotional and human qualities, a place with dignity, integrity, determination and purpose, simply a place we could really be proud of.
