Welcome whoever is interested in mediation and other approaches of dialogue and alternative dispute resolution. I started this group to exchange with others on their experiences. More specificalls I'm interested in:
- How do we have to adress mediation and dialogue mechanisms in different regions and cultures? Did you work in different regions on mediation? What was your experience?
- How are other mediation and ADR organisations measuring their impact? How do you evaluate mediation and dialogue mechanisms? Especially when the process or informations are confidential?
- How do you integrate local mechanisms and guarantee local ownership in capacity building projects?

....and many other questions to be adressed and discussed. I am looking forward to discuss with you!
Best regards,

Dear colleagues,

CSSP is happy to announce the second course on
“Multi-track Peace Mediation” jointly conducted by
CSSP, Inmedio Berlin and the Berghof Foundation.

This is a thirteen-day course organized in four
modules that will take place in the period between
June 2012 and January 2013 in Berlin. The course
offers training in multi-track approaches to
mediation in peace processes, which makes it
unique and applicable in many spheres of work
in peace-building and development cooperation.
The program introduces the basics of mediation
and gives space for you to develop and practice
your mediation skills. Moreover, it emphasizes
the specifics of mediation in peace-building
and demonstrates how the outcomes of
mediation interventions can be increased
through multi-track approaches.

The course fulfils part of the training
requirements by the German Federal
Association for Mediation (Bundesverband
Mediation). For more information on the
specific contents of the modules, the
teaching methods, the financial frame
and the trainers please download the
course brochure from the following link:

Dear friends,
MasterPeace will be the most heartwarming global peace project ever, as a result of an intensive East-West cooperation, supported by NGOs, companies, cities, social entrepreneurs and you. MasterPeace will develop several attractive peace-building projects, including a mesmerizing concert in Cairo on Peace Day 2014, where artists from all the world’s major conflict areas will perform to promote togetherness, international collaboration and the reduction of (armed) conflicts. The concert will be an exclusive reward for people who actively supported peace-building activities in the years before Peace Day 2014. Because peace-building is a verb. “Creating peace. Together”.
There are many reasons to start a large-scale, new, fresh, innovative, bottom-up peace initiative supported by the ‘East’ and the ‘West’.
We are dedicated to put MUSIC above FIGHTING, DIALOGUE above JUDGEMENT, BREAD above BOMBS and CREATION above DESTRUCTION. --

Dear Maciej,

the pilot course is 50 % in German and 50 % in English and therefore for participants that speak both languages. A second course in English only will soon be announced, with a booklet in English.

I will post the course on this side. If you have questions in between, please contact me and I'd be happy to give you more information.

Best regards,

Dear friend
"Vasudev kutumbkam" entire world is a family, this was a teaching of our Indian culture and tradition.
We created countries, boundaries, religions. But this is the time to realize that we are one, our source of life and breath is same , we naturally interconnected with each other. When we understand this simple thing then we must understand how our and other's life is equally important, valuable and respectable.God has given us a human life to look after the wellbeing of all living life in this planet.

FYI - the CSSP Annual Reports 2009 with an introduction from the Director Juan Diaz:

CSSP Annual Report 2009.pdf

Dear Colleagues and Friends,

2009 was an eventful and crucial year for the Balkan region and an important year for our organisation. The work of CSSP was very successful as you will discover in our CSSP Annual Report 2009.

In 2009 CSSP implemented projects in more than 10 municipalities in Serbia, Kosovo, Macedonia and Bosnia and has further activities in the region, interactive training, systematic advocacy, conflict analysis, stakeholder consultation, and inter-community mediation.

We advanced our methodology - Integrative Mediation - and developed further tools for conflict analysis and evaluation which are part of the Multitrack Peace Mediation Course in 2011, developed jointly with Berghof Peace Support, Inmedio and CSSP.

The projects presented in the report could not operate without our supporters and partners. We thank them for their dedication to CSSP and to our mutual vision of a peaceful and locally owned inter-community resolution of conflicts.

CSSP wishes to strengthen its outreach and communication with our partners, sponsors and friends. We invite you to subscribe to our newsletter, to join the roundtables in Berlin and to liaise with our projects in the field.

If you have ideas or comments to the work of CSSP we kindly invite you to contact us and share your ideas. All comments will be handled with sensitivity, confidentiality and with appreciation. We hope the CSSP Annual Report 2009 will serve to inform you about our work.

Best regards,
Juan Diaz
