Grad Chat: Get Advice on Grad School

Join our new PCDN group for those thinking of pursuing a Master's degree or PhD to ask questions about graduate school, students, and programs!  This group will allow members to connect with each other, seek advice and share experiences on selecting programs, applying to graduate school, must useful courses, and more. 

Graduate students who want to advise incoming students can post responses, and the PCDN team will also work to answer questions. 

General Guidelines: This is a place for questions about the general process, please post relevant questions, but do not post requests for scholarships, etc.

Dear Amaud

I would suggest you move your comment to a forum discussion (see above click on add a discussion) so it will be easier for people to respond. It sounds like you have very strong experience and would encourage you look into both UK and US based programs and apply to a select number in each location.  If French is your native language you will need to take the TOEFL for most US programs. See the MA guide on PCDN (this is not a complete list but a good place to start),

Hi, I am currently working as a Country Director in Sierra Leone with an International NGO specialized in Nutrition; I have been working the last few years in different country such as Afghanistan, Chad, Central Africa Republic, Ivory Coast, Myanmar. I would like now to register for a Master in Peace Building / Conflict Resolution in September 2014 . My first questions could be "Should I study in the US or in the UK?" (I am French so I need to study in an English speaking environment).
