Comment by tahir wadood malik on June 5, 2011 at 5:00am the budget is the latest in a long list of non-performance items. anybody who expected otherwise was mistaken.
but give them credit, the cost of soft drinks may come down! cake if not bread!
Comment by Sohail Mahmood on June 4, 2011 at 1:10pm Disappointed by the new budget just announced in Pakistan. More of the same. The country is now paralyzed because of weak government. Pakistan is a mess primarily because of acute bad governance and weak resolve to tackle the challenges. Hoping against hope.

Comment by Sohail Mahmood on May 13, 2011 at 11:44pm MINUTES OF THE MEETING
The second meeting of VFPA was held on 13th May, 2011 from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm at the Seminar Room 24 of IRD, Old Campus (Faisal Mosque), IIUI.
The meeting presided by Dr. Sohail Mahmood and other participants were:
The following things have been discussed in the meeting:
1. Mr. Asad Ali Shah discussed how we can launch a campaign for mobilizing youth on anti-corruption awareness and mobilization. It was proposed to involve teachers as informants of ethics and social values within a classroom. It was decided to display banners and posters for creating awareness. Moreover, flyers should be distributed for the same cause.
2. Mr. Khawar Naeem showed the design of the required banners and flyers for the campaign. Mr. Afzal Shad will coordinate with him in designing the logo and banners.
3. It was suggested to arrange a ceremony for recognition of the honest people by distributing souvenirs/certificates. It can be good source of motivating them and inspiring others.
4. The domain was finalized as ‘voiceforpakistan.org’.
5. It was decided to issue annual membership to all the members. There will be three categories of it. First is the category of Executive Members and they will be paying 1000 PKR for the renewal of their memberships annually. Second category is of the General Members and they would be paying 100 PKR every year. Third category is of the Volunteers and they will be issued membership cards free of cost.
6. It was also suggested to assign designations and duties to all the active members for future speculations.
7. Moreover, a complete profile of each active group member would be maintained on our website. So that people can contact them directly for donations and for reporting blatant corruption cases.
8. To encourage and promote the spirit of reporting corruption issues, we particularly welcome witnessed accounts of corruption incidents. Also, we need few volunteers for compiling reports on monthly basis. An annual report will be compiled on the basis of these submitted reports.
9. People are invited to post authentic reports of corruption on Facebook. They can leave their contact number, address and email along with the submitted report. This asked information would be kept highly confidential.
10. Ms. Syeda Namra Khalid was introduced as Finance Secretary of the group responsible for money matters.
11. It was suggested to open up a bank account to lever donations and to acknowledge the names of donors and their input.
12. For generating donations, we have proposed to arrange some entertainment programs, for instance, organizing the competitions of making a drama, short film, documentary, photography etc.
13. It was decided that we can invite few other groups of Facebook having same objectives as our group. We can work in collaboration to achieve our objectives.
14. It has also been decided to use Skype for the next meeting and make it virtual one for those who cannot attend it being out of town or country.
The refreshments were served by Mr. Najam-Us-Saqib. Morever, all the members who attended the meeting donated money for the campaign advertisemen
Comment by Dan Moody on May 11, 2011 at 8:21am Appreciate you my friend!
It is a significant time for Pakistan
I think the only answer now for the world
that we hold ourselves accountable to each
other not only within our own countries
but globally as well. We are determined
that this is the right thing to do and Governments
WILL have to understand and follow this direction.
Power, Greed, Pride, Arrogance, have brought the
collapses globally, we have to come together to
reverse this trend asking across all boundries:
"how can we work together"
Blessings,
Dan
