Hi Friends! Sorry for the late late response to the Haitian call. Rest assured I am in spirit with all those who did mobilize for Haiti, and my own country did send relief and a team of health professionals there. May the healing and recovery take place in Haiti the fastest.

Many persons are involved in helping Haiti victims which is highly commendable. But it seems some are using the situation for enriching themselves

It is said that the MNC "MOSANTO" is helping the victims by giving seeds to revive agriculture in Haiti through USAID. MOSANTO is actively involved in propagating genetically modified (GM) seeds. These seeds makes the producer to be depend on the supplier throughout his lifetime for th seeds, fertilizer and agrochemicals needed for the cultivation of the crops. It is said that in the long-run these GM seeds is a cause for the bad health of living beings as well as the soil on which it is used.

So it is hoped that this Forum will take into consideration the above and voice its concern on this matter

For the earthquake relief in Haiti, we decided to start an initiative to get lawyers more involved. Prese Prese! is encouraging lawyers to donate money as well as pro bono or low cost legal services to Haitians that need assistance to adjust their immigration status (Temporary Protected Status applications and applications for employment authorization) and other related legal matters. Please check out: http://preseprese.org (Prese Prese! is also on Twitter, LinkedIn, and Facebook) and spread the word. We have spread the word to several Haitian community based organizations and need to spread the word to more that legal assistance is available.
