Experts who will speak at the event include:

  • Dr. Olivier de Schutter; the UN Special Rapporteur for the Right to Food,
  • Dr. Rocío Barahona, Member of the UN Committee on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights (from Costa Rica)
  • Dr. Ismat Jahan, Member of the UN Committee on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women (from Bangladesh)
  • Dr. Anne Bellows, Head of the Competence Center for Gender and Nutrition at the University of Hohenheim
  • Dr. Flavio Valente, Secretary General of FIAN
  • Dr Ana Maria Suarez-Franco, Permanent representative of FIAN international in Geneva.

This workshop is part of a collaborative project between the FoodFirst Information and Action Network (FIAN) and the University of Hohenheim that explores the potential of gender focused pro-nutrition approaches within legal and institutional frameworks of human rights.
