Peace and Collaborative Development Network

Building Bridges, Networks and Expertise Across Sectors

Dear Colleagues

Greetings. In order to help to grow the network and to attract new members, we would like to start a page on the network highlighting comments of how members are using or benefiting from the Peace and Collaborative Development Network. If you might have time to provide brief comments on how this site has helped you in your work/professional development, this would be very helpful. In your responses please also include your name, job, organization, location and if we have permission to post your comments on a separate page promoting the network. You can post in this discussion or send feedback directly to me.

Some possible benefits from being on the site might include:

* New Contacts
* Obtaining a Scholarship
* Attending a Training Program
* New Research
* New Information
* New Projects
* Other Areas

Dear Craig,

I sincerely appreciate all the information shared through this network, but as a student I particularly appreciate information regarding scholarships, internships, training programs and conferences, and job openings. Even though I am not able to use all the opportunities I discover through the network, it is wonderful knowing that they exist and having a place where I can search for them. I used to endlessly search for opportunities through Google, and I couldn't have imagined the number that exist just on this network! I also regularly forward new postings to friends who might be interested.
I like receiving emails as new posts are made, so if a digest format is created to satisfy some of the other commentators, I hope that it is as an option. I also liked one of the other commentator's suggestions for a volunteer exchange medium.
If it is possible to develop in the future, I recommend an advanced search capability in order for people to target directly what they are looking for without having to scroll through forums.

Thanks for your work!

Thanks for the feedback. And advanced search idea is something we would love to see at some point in the future. However you can directly search now in any of the subcategories or across the site by use the existing search tools.

I first want to commend Craig, the creator of this network for the excellent job so far. Despite not having been a member for very long I can confidently say this network has been a rich resource for various kinds of opportunities. These opportunities range from new friends, professional networking, resource materials, funding opportunities, scholarship and intern opportunities as well as opportunities to show case our work.
From a link on the network I am already taking part in an initiative that will help me write and contribute to the change i want to see in the world. Information is power and that is the most important thing this site brings to us. We are then left to sift what we need or what is relevant to us. Thank you and keep up the good work.

Hello Craig
I love seeing the notices in my inbox from the PCDN, because in them will be information about conferences, dialogues, scholarships and more! Whenever they seem suitable, I pass the information on to others who may be interested in applying or joining the offerings. You bring the world of peace and human rights development right through my front door, and for that I am extremely grateful. Jenni Prisk
