The closing date for the Rotary World Peace Fellowship has been extended to 1 August 2011.

Details

There are 2 year scholarships for Masters programmes in 7 universities around the world focused on peace and conflict studies (very loosely- you could focus on law, health, music etc as long as there is a link to peace and conflict).  However, the one that may be of most interest is the 3 months Bangkok programme targeted at people with 6+ years work experience and working in the peace and conflict field. Both the masters and 3 months course include field trips (for example, for me I will be going to Cambodia and North Thailand).

To give you an idea of the participants in my intake, there are police investigators, educators, a photo journalist, aid/humanitarian/NGO workers, consultants, civil servants, lawyers etc.

So far we have learned from a Nobel Peace Prize Nominee, a specialist in conflict analyst and there will be at least 15 more international trainers to come in the next 12 weeks.  I have found this programme to be extremely enlightening and very practical in focus.

Anyway, if this sounds like something that may be of interest to anyone in your networks, please do share this with them. Happy to answer questions about the course if there are any.
