I am a student at Swarthmore College. I am currently working on my application for a Watson Fellowship that would take me to several countries to observe childcare/daycare centers where the focus is on peace and reconciliation between different religious groups. This project is particularly important to me because of the religious conflict I have experienced in my own family, but I would never want to make anyone uncomfortable by coming in to observe from the outside.
I need to make some connections with childcare providers with a peace and reconciliation focus in different countries. I have found the most potential contacts in Bosnia/Herzegovina, Northern Ireland, and India.
Does anyone know any childcare/daycare providers interested in making peace between religious groups that might be interested in having a student observe their work?

The above may be of interest, my life and holy land trust being open to outside help; applied research. My Life is concerned with 'street children'. In terms of conflict resolution its beauty lies in challenging misconceptions and injustices via peaceful means, thus trying to build a just, positive peace after negative, no open battle peace. Fedup (federation of Urban Poor ) Shackdwellers International are a global grass roots organisation born of people living in extreme injustice and poverty. Orphans and Vulnerable Children OVAC is a part of this and in different parts of the world conflict resolution work is an integral part.
Just like in Ireland, there is loads of stuff in Israel and Palestine; there has had to be. The links i offer may not be the best but may be a beginning.
On another note, I feel your research area and my research and practice have various creative connections points, so I am interested in keeping in contact and sharing ideas.
Best Wishes,
Antonia

Thank you so much for your help! Unfortunately, I cannot travel to Israel and Palestine on a Watson - though I would love to!

How nice to see a request from a Swattie on the board. I used to teach in the Political Science department 2001-2007. Now I am at the University of St Andrews. One of PhD students works with such groups in Israel/Palestine. Would you e-mail me directly Jeffrey.Murer@st-andrews.ac.uk>> and I will introduce you to him via e-mail. Please say hello to Lee from me.
Best regards,

Interesting the moves being made by Elisabeth Badinter. Perhaps not exactly the scope of your research, but may provide some very helpful and useful insights....

Your work sounds fascinating and very interesting! I am really interesting in hearing more about your approach to creating peace. How does your church address religious conflict?
Thank you so much for the offer to host me! How generous! I will definitely include you as a contact I have made and if I do win this fellowship, maybe I will have a chance to come see you and hear about your work firsthand!
Thank you,
Allison

I would love to talk to you more about how we could connect over this issue. Do you work with religious conflict and children? Or do you know anyone who does that you could put me in contact with?
Thank you,
Allison
