Global Zero is currently accepting applications to its Student Leadership Summer (for college students in DC)

Global Zero is currently accepting applications to its Student Leadership Summer, an exciting and competitive program that will offer twenty college students interested in foreign affairs and world peace the opportunity to become the faces of an international, grassroots movement for the elimination of nuclear weapons worldwide - for global zero.

Global Zero signatories American National Security Advisor Tony Lake, Ambassador Thomas Pickering, and Ambassador Richard Burt will have lunch with Global Zero Student Leadership Summer participants, speaking about their own roles in negotiating past agreements on nuclear nonproliferation and on the importance of engaging world citizens as well as world leaders to achieve global zero. Top practitioners in organizing and media relations will lead hands-on trainings on July 25 and August 1.

The goal of the Global Zero Student Summer to have 20 dedicated and empowered students return to their college campuses to launch Global Zero chapters and represent student activists at future events such as Global Zero's 2010 Paris Summit. We are building a global grassroots movement for the elimination of nuclear weapons - global zero - and this is the first step.

Unfortunately, we cannot offer living or travel stipends to program participants; applicants should already be residing in DC.

The webpage and online application (apps are due by 9am on July 16) are available at http://www.globalzero.org/en/student-summer
