Crisis Action is looking for a Media Officer to join our team of global campaigners on conflict. The post will be based in any one of our eight international offices (with a preference for Europe, Africa or the Middle East).

We coordinate and manage joint international campaigns to tackle the causes and human consequences of conflict. We create and support strategic coalitions to protect civilians during war and mobilise international action to end or prevent conflicts.

As our Media Officer, you’ll be at the heart of the action - whether that’s engaging in a rapid response to an emergency or helping to tackle entrenched conflicts. In collaboration with partners like Oxfam, Save the Children, International Crisis Group, and Human Rights Watch, you will deliver high-quality, innovative media coverage that drives change.

We are looking for someone with impeccable news sense, first-rate writing and editing skills and a strong track record. Confident, ambitious and energetic, you’ll have good relationships with key journalists and an understanding of different media markets. An exceptional team player with good negotiation skills, you’ll be able to get results in a coalition setting. You’ll have a political and strategic mind and be able to get to grips with new information fast.

In this role, you will work closely with campaign colleagues from around the world to maximise impact. You will measure success, capture learning and drive innovation and will be responsible for ensuring excellence across all our media materials. You will be in regular contact with media officers and others in our partner organisations – meaning that the ability to work with and motivate others and to drive forward joint initiatives with tact and tenacity will be crucial.

If you like routine, relish bureaucracy or are looking to put your feet up, this job isn’t for you. If you’re hungry for a challenge, have limitless energy in a fast-moving environment, and think you can help us and our partners influence some of the world’s most powerful people, then go to www.crisisaction.org for an application pack.
