Since its inception in 1999,
CharityFocus has partnered with hundreds of small nonprofit organizations (NPOs) to build custom web-solutions. CharityFocus' unique model enables volunteers to deploy a broad array of expertise to help NPOs better deliver services to their beneficiaries and more effectively reach their target audience. CharityFocus is completely volunteer run, and the services of its volunteers are absolutely free.
ervice eXchange: Upgrade an Existing Website
Too often, small nonprofit organizations (NPOs) find themselves on the far side of the digital divide, removed from the advantages that simple technology can lend to their missions. CharityFocus helps nonprofits develop web solutions that enhance their ability to serve their beneficiaries, reach out to potential donors and volunteers, and reach a broader audience with their messages and stories of service.
Through our Service eXchange program, volunteers have been constructing websites for NPOs since 1999 ... absolutely free of charge. When you choose to collaborate with CharityFocus to build or redesign your website, everyone wins. Our volunteers give you their time and talents. You give them the opportunity to serve and the chance to learn about and become inspired by your work.
CFSites is a simple, free way for people to create a website for their favorite service related activities. Within minutes, you can create a website, share your inspirations and allow people to view your causes online.
In 1999, CharityFocus began by building free websites for nonprofits. As an all volunteer organization, we have collectively designed hundreds of free websites for satisfied nonprofits. Along the way, we developed CFSites as a way to help the nonprofits currently on the waitlist to get on the web more quickly. We are hoping that this service will also help nonprofits to organize their content so that when it is time for a customized website, the process will move along much more quickly.
Not only is our website building tool useful as a stepping stone, in many cases, users will be able to create sites that easily rival the custom sites. And as the cost of web hosting is an issue for some nonprofits, here they can simply use their CFSite at no cost at all.

Below is our typical seven step process:
1. Fill out an online request form.
2. Answer filtering questions about your organization.
3. Participate in an online or phone orientation.
4. Gather requirements for your request.
5. Open requests for new volunteers to join the project.
6. Develop the website.
7. Get the site reviewed by a distributed team of experts.
While the quality of websites is dependent on the type of volunteers that your organization is able to draw, we are quite pleased with some of our recent success stories:
