Dear Colleagues,
The Horn of Africa Bulletin (HAB) is a monthly publication that compiles analyses, news and resources on issues related to conflict and peacebuilding. The Life and Peace Institute produces the HAB in partnership with two regional organisations, the All Africa Conference of Churches (AACC) and the Fellowship of Christian Councils of Churches in the Great Lakes and the Horn of Africa (FECCLAHA). The Horn of Africa here is defined as comprised of InterGovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD) member states (Djibouti, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Somalia, Sudan, Kenya and Uganda).
The publication consists of three parts: part one ("Analysis") provides a platform for articles analysing issues and developments related to peace and conflict in the region. In part two ("News and events") various news items that are considred as being os interest and relevant to the readers are collected. In the third part ("Resources"), useful and recent resources for the countries of the region are compiled.
Articles should be 1,100 - 1,500 words. The analysis should be based on a conceptual or theoretical framework related to peacebuilding or conflict transformation in the Horn of Africa. We prefer the use of endnotes as well as in-text references for referencing. The HAB is distributed in electronic format, ie sent out by email to subscribers and accesible on LPIs webpage (
www.life-peace.org).
The deadline for submission for articles is always the third day of the second week of every month. Articles are emailed to the editor - olivia.kibui at life-peace.org or tore.samuelsson at life-peace.org. Further details are given in the attachment.
