We are kicking off a series of Action Blogging Campaigns on PulseWire, our community newswire of grassroots women leaders from over 140 countries.
This is an effort to rally our community around topics that matter with
real actions to take.

In response to Uganda's anti-gay bill which is slated to come before parliament in late February or early March, the theme for the first campaign is LGBT Rights. This initiative was sparked by PulseWire member Gertrude Pswarayi of Zimbabwe, who asked if there was a way to survey the PulseWire community on the topic of sexual minorities. We wanted to take it a step further - and not only ask the community for feedback, but to also provide the space to rally our voices for change and take it straight to the Ugandan parliament.

I invite you to join PulseWire, an interactive space where women worldwide, including those using Internet cafes in rural areas, can speak for themselves to the world to collaborate and solve global problems. Here you can speak to an audience of over 3500 women worldwide on the topic of LGBT rights and speak your mind, share the work that you, your organization, your staff or anyone in your community is doing. This campaign will continue through the month of February, so I encourage you to also forward this to people in your community and invite them to join and add their voices to the campaign.
