Action Blogging Campaign - Ending Gender Based Violence
The United Nations reports that at least one out of every three women around the world has been beaten, raped, or otherwise abused in her lifetime—with the abuser usually someone known to her.
The consequences of violence against women are physically debilitating and a major cause of death and disability for women aged 15 to 44 years, rating higher than deaths caused by motor vehicle accidents, cancer, and malaria.
However, the psychological and social consequences are equally devastating as the stigma associated with sexual violence and domestic abuse leaves women incredibly vulnerable and jeopardizes the well-being of families, fractures communities, and stalls the economic development of a nation.
This week on PulseWire, we are kicking off an Action Blogging Campaign on the theme of Ending Gender Based Violence. We've partnered with the Man Up Campaign and inviting all members of our community to use their journal and speak out about personal experiences in gender based violence, as well as ideas and innovative solutions for bringing an end to violence against women and girls.
We invite you and the women in your network to join us in saying NO to gender based violence. Tell us your personal and observed experiences of violence against women, in any form. Share your work, projects, initiatives and innovative solutions with the community and tell us how you’re working to end violence in the movement for awareness and peace. And also please share any specific actions that you wish to draw support around.
How to Participate:

Gender Based Violence (GBV)
Definition: GBV is a discriminatory/unfair act, which affects individuals, families, community and the state as sexual, physical, emotional and economic abuse of gender relation.
The Gender Based Violence can be:
• Physical violence- madder, battery, destroying his/her position
• Sexual violence- Rape, FGM, sexual committed during war crime
Emotional/psychological violence:
1. Social, Cultural, Political and Economical
2. Lower level of literacy of women
3. Lower level participation of decision-making position and process
4. Discrimination-customary which makes women more vulnerable
Consequences of GBV:
• Physical- death victim, HIV/AIDs and maiming
• Psychological- fear, insecurity, humiliation and depression
• Social- feeling incompetence, low self-steam and lack of self worth
Economic:
1. Low level of productivity from the abuse women
2. Low leadership for economic

Great initiative, the women of this world provide the life line to Humanity. These initiatives however have to do a lot with the women's own initiatives and engagement. In this era, there is no other option but to end Gender violence for all humnaity to live in peace. All the best.

The idea of, 'Action Blogging Campaign to end Gender Bassed Violence' is very interesting and innovative. We will definately like to join 'Pulse Wire'.
In fact, our oganisation, Mass Education, a voluntary organisation involved in rural development for the past 30 years (since 1980), in campaigning aganist demestic level violence, by sensitising the rural masses and youth through trainings, Awareness Camps, Cultural Programmes, Poster Exhibitions etc.
Our organisation is also one of the member APWN ( Andhra Pradesh Women's Network), which is basically working on Gender Based Violence particularly, focussing on 'domestic level violence on women'.
Apart from Gender another priority area of our organisation is Consevation and Regeneration of Pancha Maha Bhootas ( 5 great Classical Elements that are sustaining life on our planet - Earth, Water, Air, Space and Energy). We all know that these resources are fast depleting and its negative impact will be very high on the lives and livelihoods of the poor women, labourers and farmers. You may my blog to see my ideas and articles on this issue and try to respond.
