Peace and Collaborative Development Network

Building Bridges, Networks and Expertise Across Sectors

I have been teaching negotiations and mediation skills in Mexico for many years. In January I plan to start a new proyect: Teaching negotiation and mediation skills to youth and gang leaders. We hope that this group of young people will then teach these skills in their communities. Peacekeeping skills should be an important component of what we teach. Any suggestions or experiences you could share? We will be developing a teaching manual and role playing exercises, so any materials that you can share or suggestions of books or websites is welcome. My email is negociaciónefectiva@prodigy.net.mx
Wishing you peace...

Hi, Ms ana Maria,
Your work teaching and negotiation and mediation skills seem interesting and useful. I am just curious to know how you do teaching the gang leaders with the negotiation and mediation skills. My question is what role will they play in peace keeping process? What about the youths, what role can they play in peace building?

I m looking forward to receiving your comment or response.

Hola Ana Maria,

Well, I am now teaching at a senior high school. I think if I can get some useful material on peace from you. it will be very helpful as the discussion material.

Hi Ana
Do you have any religious theme in your training/teaching materials? and how do you hope to build peace in a community severely disturbed by communal and ethnic violence?
Please share your ideas and experience , and I suggest you to approach the issue through cultural, ethnic and paradigmic perspective.
