32nd International Human Rights Training Program (IHRTP)

Check out details about the 32nd International Human Rights Training Program (IHRTP)organised by Equitas, Canada. It will take place at Ste-Anne-de-Bellevue, Quebec, Canada, between June 5- June 24 2011. The IHRTP is intended for human rights workers and educators from Non-Governmental Organizations, National Human Rights Institutions, Government bodies and educational institutions. The goal of the IHRTP is to strengthen the capacity of human rights organizations to undertake human rights education efforts aimed at building a global culture of human rights. The curriculum is based on principles of adult experiential learning in which participants and facilitators engage in a process of mutual teaching and learning. The Program Information provides a detailed description of the Program.
The Equitas Selection Committee gives priority to the organisations best able to demonstrate their commitment and effectiveness in relation to human rights promotion and education. Consideration is also given to overall gender balance, geographic representation and the availability of bursaries.
Please note that the deadline for receiving applications is November 21st, 2010 and that only the 2011 Application Forms will be accepted. You can also find the documents, in English and French, on the web site at: www.equitas.org.

I am very much interested in the 32nd International Human Rights Training Program (IHRTP) for better use in my professional life but i am unable to pay for the program fee because i am from Nepal and we have no any funding organizations.I am the secretary of Youth Network for Peace and Development, Mahottari,Nepal.
I wonder if you show me the way for receiving the Bursaries Managed for International Candidates.

Equitas gives some scholarships and you might be able to receive one. Just send in your application. You could also check other organisations such as Ford Foundation, CIDA, Rockeffeller etc. All the best

Do not miss it! It is a very good training! I had the opportunity to learn and exchange with people from around the world! At the time, they implemented it in English and French!

am working with an ngo which is still new, financially we are not stable so far, operating in Tanzania.
how coul I found myself in the training will depend much from your lovely concern.

Thanks for information. I'm very interest to attend the training. My concern is whether there will be fees and what will be the charges?.
We have big concern for proposed construction of hydro-electric dam (1500MW) which will effect many farmers and will keep them on landless. Inhabitants are struggling for the same, if you can kindly support to attend the training I hope it will help underprivileged farmers standing for their right.

It is a wonderful program and i would like so much to participate. But the organisation that am working for as a volunteer is not financially stable to support me thruogh this traing. So is there any sponsorship provisions for people like me? And how can i access them. And another thing is that, what are the requirements to consider an applicant eligible for the program?

Thanks for the invitation. I am programme officer of grass root youth serving agency and curreltly coordinating a national programme on youth and women participation in the democratization process in Sierra Leone. This makes this training opportunity a rare one. I am very interested and will want to know the finacial implications if any and where i might be able to find funding for the training.
