The course aims to equip those involved in supervision, team work and management with the skills to perform these tasks effectively in peace operations.
At the end of the course, participants should be able to:
The course is designed for civilians, military and police personnel eager to serve in peace operations. Participants are expected to have no prior, or limited, experience in peace operations and to come from a vast and diverse demographic and professional range. At this stage, the course is neither specialized for a particular gender or age group, nor to specific background experience and education. Nevertheless, it is highly advisable that participants have an overall understanding of the structure, components and functioning of a peace operation.
Participants with a passing grade of 80% on the assessment activities included throughout the course will be eligible for the certificate of completion.
Deadline for application is: 5th of April 2011.
Fee: USD 500, A limited number of fellowships are available to candidates from Least Developed Countries (as per UN-OHRLLS list).
