We are pleased to invite you to The Gabriel García Márquez Fellowship in Cultural Journalism, in Cartagena de Indias and Aracataca, Colombia.
The aim of this workshop will be to use the themes of film and popular culture to strengthen the understanding and practice of cultural journalism, specifically the interview, extended reportage and critical commentary.
The Gabriel García Márquez Fellowship in Cultural Journalism will be divided into two modules: Film and Popular Culture. Both modules will be coordinated by FNPI teacher Héctor Feliciano and the American journalist Jonathan Levi. In addition, each module will include guest experts, both national and international. Accompanied by discussions with Guest Masters A.O. Scott (EEUU) , film critic in The New York Times, Fernanda Solórzano (México), film critic in Letras Libres, Alberto Salcedo Ramos (Colombia) and Jean-François Fogel (Francia), France Télevisions.
The participants will not have to pay a registration fee for this activity. They will also receive the following financial support:
• International medical insurance during the term of the fellowship.
• Accommodation in a single room during the term of the fellowship.
• Roundtrip ticket, economy class.
• Refreshments daily, a welcome dinner and a farewell dinner.
• Working materials.
• Press credentials to access to the Film Festival.
