Event Description

HPCR International announces the 3rd Core Professional Training on Humanitarian Law and Policy to be held in Brussels, Belgium, in cooperation with the Program on Humanitarian Policy and Conflict Research at Harvard University.

The Core Professional Training on Humanitarian Law and Policy, designed in partnership with the Program on Humanitarian Policy and Conflict Research at Harvard University, is tailored to meet the needs of policymakers and practitioners working in the field of humanitarian assistance around the world.

The Core Professional Training provides both dynamic expert instruction and policy tools that are directly linked to practice and contemporary challenges. Combining group discussions, case studies and simulations, this event will cover the following topics included in the event's agenda:

- International Human Rights and Armed Conflict
- Conduct of Hostilities and Direct Participation in Hostilities
- International Law and Armed Non-State Actors
- IHL, Counterterrorism and Counterinsurgency
- Occupation Law
- Genocide and Crimes against Humanity
- IHL, International Criminal Law and Enforcement

A Thematic Workshop on IHL and Internal Conflict will be offered in complement to the Core Professional Training on 17-18 September.

These courses are designed for mid-career professionals with 3-5 years of experience in humanitarian affairs, or the equivalent.
