10TH JAN TINBERGEN EUROPEAN PEACE SCIENCE CONFERENCE
28 - 30 JUNE 2010
We are pleased to announce that the 10th Jan Tinbergen European Peace Science Conference, annual meeting of NEPS, will take place on 28 - 30 June 2010 in Amsterdam at the Tinbergen Institute, Roeterstraat 31, 1018 WB Amsterdam.
The Jan Tinbergen Conference is interdisciplinary. There will be continuing emphasis on research methods in peace science, but also papers dealing with all aspects of the peace science field, from pure abstract theory to practical applied research will be accepted. As a guide to topics, please consider: (a) Arms Control and International Security, (b) Deterrence Theory, (c) Harmony and Conflict, (d) Cooperation, Alliances and Games, (e) Game and Related Theory, (f) Mathematical approaches to Conflict Management, (g) Mathematical Models of Arms Races and Wars, (h) Empirical and Historical Studies on the Causes of War, (i) Crises and War Studies, (j) World Models, (k) Critical Economic Aspects of the Global Crises, (l) The impact of conflicts on welfare of society, (m) Peace Science Methodology and Theory, (n) Conflict Analysis and Management, (o) Artificial Intelligence and Cognitive Studies, (p) Behavioral Studies, and (q) Economic policies to cope with actual and potential conflicts.

All abstracts (150-250 words) with tentative title submitted before 15 February 2010 will be considered for the conference. Proposals received after 15 February 2010 will only be considered if any presentation slots are still available.
Phd students are eligible for the Stuart Bremer Award. The Stuart A. Bremer Travel Award seeks to enhance the exchange of scientific findings between young European and American Peace Scientists. Each year one European graduate scholar is rewarded with a travel bursary to attend the North American conference of the Peace Science Society (International). Some selected papers will be offered publication in a book in the series Contributions to Conflict Management, Peace Economics and Development. The series is published by Emerald Publishing, U.K. Selected papers will be refereed.
Those who are interested in participating should submit their proposal (abstract, tentative title, author name(s) and affiliation(s)) either in a word document or in a plain text e-mail to the following address: conference@europeanpeacescientists.org
Participation fee will be 80 euros for senior researchers and 50 euros for Phd students. Fees also include annual membership in NEPS.
